Speech Pathologists

Speech Pathologists assist the patient in regaining the ability to communicate, and in some cases, assist with swallowing problems. They evaluate to determine the patient's type of speech or language disorder and plan a program to get the patient to communicate and understand more effectively. Therapists devise and teach alternate ways of communicating such as the use of symbols and hand gestures.
